  • Why choose underfloor heating over radiators?

    There are many benefits to be gained from installing underfloor heating instead of radiators. As underfloor heating operates at temperatures of around 35oC-50oC versus a radiator system operating at 70oC-80oC the amount of energy is far less resulting in lower running costs. A correctly designed underfloor heating system system in a fully insulated property can save up to 40% on running costs.



    Other benefits including greater comfort due to the radiant nature of the heat and the freedom to layout and decorate rooms without the need to consider radiators consuming wall space.

  • Can I have underfloor heating and radiators in the same property?

    Absolutely. It's very common to have underfloor heating on the ground floor and radiators upstairs, particularly in older properties. We can advise on the most practical and cost-effective approach for your home.

  • What floor coverings work with underfloor heating?

    Most floor coverings are compatible with underfloor heating. Stone and ceramic tiles are the most efficient conductors of heat, while timber, laminate and luxury vinyl tile (LVT) are also excellent choices. Carpet can be used, but we recommend a combined carpet and underlay tog value of no more than 2.5 to avoid restricting heat output.
